It seemed like the whole city and then some was at the opening of the 7th Contemporary Istanbul last night, the largest art fair in Turkey. With drinks and catalogues in hand, with various agendas on mind, everyone's eyes traveled from one diverse piece to another. When one examines art as a potential investment piece, the other plainly takes it as a cool conversation starter for their pad.
You know, pretentious or not, expert or not, wealthy or not, it is all irrelevant at the end of the event. What's important is how a piece of art makes you feel. There are no right answers here. It is personal. Art is for every one of you.
So do yourself a favor, and make a point of attending between today and Sunday. Your perspective may move and your soul may be inspired. Now, ''Isn't that pretty to think so?'' Above, I shared some of my personal favorites.

Sanki bütün şehir ve ötesi dün akşam Türkiye'nin en büyük sanat fuarı olan 7. Contemporary İstanbul açılışındaydılar. Ellerde içkiler ve kataloglar, kafada farklı gündemler, herkesin gözü bir sanat eserinden diğerine gezdi durdu. Biri potansiyel yatırım diye eserleri incelerken, diğeri basitçe evlerinde cool bir sohbet açıcı olur diye bakınıyordu.
Ama zübbe olun olmayın, uzman olun olmayın, varlıklı olun olmayın, gecenin sonunda bunların hepsi alakasız aslında. Çünkü önemli olan bir esersin sizi nasıl hissettirdiği. Doğru ya da yanlış diye birşey yok. Bu kişisel. Sanat her birimiz için.
O yüzden kendinize bir iyilik yapın ve bugün ile pazar günü arasında mutlaka gitmeye özen gösterin. Perspektifiniz değişebilir ve ruhunuz ilham alabilir. Böyle düşünmek güzel olmaz mı? Yukarıda beğendiklerimden bazılarını sizlerle paylaştım.
