Istanbul Modern Restaurant

Upon Cey's great idea, we went to brunch at the restaurant of Istanbul Modern yesterday and viewed the current exhibitions while at it. It had been a while since I'd gone and it was quite refreshing to go some place other than the usual suspects. Although not impressed with the collection of the museum  (the permanent exhibit seems to be almost as small as when the museum had opened, and the current exhibitions are not as stimulating as some in the past) I do love the restaurant.

The menu is a successful mix of Turkish classics and international favorites. But what's more exciting is that the food delivers! And it is not only a place to try the delicious food for lunch or dinner, but also a wonderful spot to enjoy cocktails out on the terrace, overlooking the arrestingly beautiful view of the endless sea and the Topkapi Palace.

Overall, if you are sick of going to the same places over and over again, remember that Istanbul Modern's restaurant will exhibit a wonderful experience for you. One important hint: Call ahead to ask if the cruise ship has anchored in front of the museum, which happens from time to time and blocks the entire view.

Dün Cey'in harika fikri üzerine İstanbul Modern'in restoranında brunch yaptık ve hazır oralara gitmişken güncel sergileri de gezdik. Oraya gitmeyeli uzun zaman olmuştu ve olağan şüphelilerden biri yerine müzeye gitmek iyi de geldi. Her ne kadar müzenin koleksiyonu beni çok etkilememiş de olsa  (kalıcı sergi müze ilk açıldığı zaman ki kadar ufak ve güncel sergiler geçmişteki bazı sergiler kadar etkileyici değil)  müzenin restoranını çok beğeniyorum.

Menü, Türk klasikleriyle uluslararası favorilerin başarılı bir kombinasyonu. Ve daha heyecan verici olan, yemeklerin gerçekten hakkını vermesi! Öğlen veya akşam bu leziz yemekleri tatmanın yanı sıra, insanı uzaklara alıp götüren uçsuz bucaksız deniz ve Topkapı Sarayı'na bakan terasda kokteyl keyfi yapmak için de ideal bir mekan.

Sonuç itibariyle, eğer sürekli aynı yerlere gitmeden sıkıldıysanız, İstanbul Modern'in restoranı sizin için harika bir deneyim sergileyecektir. Önemli Uyarı: Önceden arayıp cruise gemisinin müze önünde demir alıp almadığını check edin çünkü demir almış olduğu takdirde manzaranın tamamını kapatıyor.
