Happy Friday everybody! I am back from New York, which has been a short but much needed visit. Hopefully I will be able to get rid of the jetlag over this weekend, which came as slowly as a leisurely turtle, and be able to enjoy all the festivities coming up this week.
* I think it was last Mother's day when my mother and I went to Mangerie for brunch on a beautiful day. After a stroll by the promenade, I took her to Bebek Hotel for our afternoon cocktails. Not the most glamorous, it is a trust-worthy establishment that offers a miraculous view, impeccable service, and the most delicious classic cocktails in the city.
* If you'd like to celebrate the special day at home but running out of ideas, Martha Stewart has plenty to offer from home-made crafts, gift-ideas and yummy recipes.
* No matter how old, if your mother doesn't have it already, my suggestion would be this wonderful book.
* If mom wasn't going to visit my grandmother's, I would celebrate a couple days early and take her to the Patricia Barber concert at Salon IKSV, today or tomorrow night.
* Another idea is to celebrate a couple of days late, and take her to the opening of interior designer Serdar Gulgun Home Accessories collection at Assouline Bebek on Tuesday May 14th, from 4-8 pm.
* While in Bebek, why not check out Kantin Take-Away Store that recently opened in Bebek. Oh those yummy salads, cookies and cakes...
* Unfortunately, I had to miss the opening of Melis Ağazat's exhibit titled 'The Grass Harp' yesterday. Regardless, I still got time until the 25th. Make sure to check it out at Pilevneli Project, along with Sezer Arici's '13:Superficial Poems'
* Because the week of the 20th will be over-flowing with conferences and work dinners, I'm contemplating a restful week this time. And yet, since I missed my entourage, I don't know, perhaps a get together at Unter might be in order. We shall see....

* Sanırım geçtiğimiz Anneler Günü'ydü, annemle güneşli hoş bir gün Mangerie'ye gitmiştik brunch için. Sahil yolundaki yürüyüşümüzden sonra, onu Bebek Otel'ine akşamüstü kokteylimiz için götürmüştüm. En lüks mekanlardan olmasa da, burası benim için her zaman güvenilir, inanılmaz bir manzara sunan, mükemmel servis veren, ve şehrin en lezzetli klasik kokteyllerini hazırlayan yer olmuştur.
* Eğer bu özel günü evde kutlamayı tercih ediyor ama ne yapacağınızı bilemiyorsanız, Martha Stewart'un önerdiği birçok fikirden faydalanabilirsiniz. Ev dekorasyonlarından tutun hediye fikirleri ve Anneler Günü menü ve tariflerine kadar.
* Kaç yaşında olursa olsun, eğer annenizde yoksa, bu muhteşem kitabı hediye etmeniz tavsiye ederim.
* Eğer annem haftasonu anneannemi ziyaret etmiyor olsaydı, anneler gününü birkaç gün erken kutlar, ya bu akşam ya da yarın, onu Salon IKSV'deki Patricia Barber konserine götürürdüm.
* Bir diğer fikir de, birkaç gün geç kutlayarak, 14 Mayıs salı Günü saat 16:00-20:00 Assouline Bebek'de iç mimar Serdar Gülgün'ün Ev Aksesuar koleksiyonunun açılışına götürmek olurdu.
* Hazır Bebek'deyken, Kantin'in yeni açılan Take-Away dükkanına uğramak da fena bir fikir değil. Ah o leziz salatalar, kurabiyeler, kekler...
* Maalesef dün Melis Ağazat'ın ''Çimen Ezgisi' başlıklı sergi açılışını kaçırmak zorunda kaldım. Neyse ki 25'ine kadar vaktim var. Sezer Arıcı'nın ''13: Yüzeysel Şiirler''iyle beraber Pilevneli Project'de görün mutlaka.
* 20'si haftası iş konferansları ve yemekleriyle ile dopdolu yoğun bir hafta olacağından, gelecek haftayı nispeten sakin geçirme planlarındayım. Ama benim entourage'ı da çok özlediğim gene Unter'de toplanır mıyız acaba? Bakalım...
