Happy Friday Weekend Links Including The Great Gatsby

 

* Baz Luhrmann's new film The Great Gatsby opens up in theaters today. Cey and I have already secured our tickets. I still claim that Carey Mulligan would make a terrible Daisy Buchannan. We shall see tomorrow. For tickets, click here.

 

* How do I know Daisy Buchannan? I did my extended essay on The Great Gatsby, as it is one of my favorite novels by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I wouldn't mind renewing my copy of the book with this  golden Penguin edition.

 

* On Sunday is the long expected annual Chill-out Festival. Make sure to grab a good spot and be prepared to set up a nice picnic. For tickets, just click here.

 

* Next week will be busy with business dinners and conferences. Our annual cocktail party will be held at Muzede Changa, which I'm looking forward to.

* On thursday is the Art Opening titled Twins at Galerie Mana which might be worth checking out. Appropriate titled as I'll be going with one of the Koc Twins.  :)

 

* Another exhibition on display is the nostalgically staged photography by Nazif Topcuoglu at Galerie Nev.

 

* While at Taksim, I'm dying to check out the new hot spot Flamingo, a new venue from the creators of  Bird. Let's see if they are able to differentiate themselves from the "Turkish Italians" that we are so used to.

* Baz Luhrmann'ın yeni filmi new film The Great Gatsby bugün vizyona girdi. Cey ile biletlerimizi garantiye aldık bile. Ben hala Carey Mulligan'ın Daisy Buchannan karakterinde çok kötü olacağını iddia ediyroum. Yarın göreceğiz bakalım. Biletler için buraya tıklayın.

 

* Daisy Buchannan'ı nerden mi biliyorum? Lisede yıl sonu projemi F. Scott Fitzgerald'ın en sevdiğim romanlarından The Great Gatsby üzerine yapmıştım. Eski kitabımı altın pırıltılı  Penguin baskısıyla değiştirmek fena olmazdı.     

 

* Pazar günü her yıl olduğu gibi harika bir kadroyla Chill-out Fesitval var. İyi bir yer kapıp  piknik yapmaya hazırlıklı olur. Biletler için tıklayın.  

 

* Haftaya iş yemekleri ve konferanslarla dolu yoğun bir zaman beni bekliyor. Ama her yıl Muzede Changa'da yaptığımız kokteyl partimiz için sabırsızlanıyorum. 

 

* Perşembe günü Galerie Mana'da İkizler başlıklı bir sergi açılışı var. Çok anlamlı bir başlık çünkü Koç İkizler'inden biriyle gidiyor olacağım. :)

 

* Bir başka görmek istediğim sergi ise Galerie Nev'de nostaljik sahnelemeler yapan fotoğrafçı Nazif Topcuoglu.

 

* Hazır Taksim'deyken yeni hot spot Flamingo'ya gitmeyi çok istiyorum. Bird'un yaratıcılarının yeni mekanı. Bakalım alıştığımız ''Türkleştirilmiş İtalyan''lardan kendini ayırtedebilecek mi?
